Skaters Anna Shcherbakova And Egor Goncharov who practice ice dancing, declared that they closed the gestalt by winning the final of the Russian Grand Prix among juniors.

On Thursday, Shcherbakova and Goncharov performed a free dance at the tournament. The sum of points for two performances is 180.42 points. The duo became the winner of the tournament.

— Of course, I wanted to have a final medal in my collection. Last time we didn’t reach the finals and couldn’t compete for the rewards, which left us a little dissatisfied. It is important for us that we are now able to compete with strong guys in a close fight, ”reports the correspondent of according to Shcherbakova’s words.

— We closed the gestalt – we won the Grand Prix final, we are happy with that. Next season we will experiment; our production coaches are always trying to show something new. This program was something new, a big step forward, a basis for adult skating,” added Goncharov.

— How has your free dance changed since the skating tests?

“A lot has changed and in the fall we worked on the program, changed some parts, and now after the Russian championship,” Shcherbakova noted.

— Why didn’t they decide to show the “chess” program here?

— We skated at the Chess Championship, we were completely satisfied and we skated as we wanted. We decided that “Cold” should also be skated, so that we would be happy,” noted the skater.
