Russian junior running champion disqualified for three years for violating anti-doping rules

Russian running champion Anastasia Kunitsyna has been disqualified for three years for violating anti-doping rules, reports the press service of the All-Russian Athletics Federation (ARAF).

Kunitsyna won the Russian junior (under 20) championship in the 3000 meters in 2022.

— The Russian Anti-Doping Agency disqualifies Anastasia Kunitsyna (Irkutsk region) for violation of clause 4.1 (“Presence of a prohibited substance, or its metabolites, or markers in a sample taken from an athlete”) and the clause 4.2 (“Use or attempted use by an athlete of a prohibited substance or method”), specifies the press release.

The rider’s disqualification period begins on March 5 and runs until February 26, 2027. All of Kunitsyna’s results obtained since February 9, 2024 are void.
