Victor has matches ahead for the Ukrainian national team
Mentor Girona Michel commented on the situation with Viktor Tsygankov, who was experiencing health problems. The coach also spoke separately about the “dry” streak of compatriot Tsygankov, forward Artem Dovbik.
“I would be worried if the team didn’t have scoring chances, but we are creating them. Artem Dovbik knows that the main thing is to get to key areas of the field and have chances. It doesn’t matter who scores the goal. I’m not worried about Dovbik, the other day he played a very good game, with and without the ball. He handled it, he fought, he made the team breathe… I’m not worried that he won’t score.”
“Victor has discomfort in his knee and is doubtful for Saturday’s game. Tomorrow at training we will see if he can work with the group, and we will decide. There are other players who were not able to perform at the same level as the team.”
Viktor Tsygankov gave an assist to Porto, which opened the scoring in the last round of La Liga match with Osasuna (2:0). In the second half, the Ukrainian suffered a knee injury and left the field.
Tsygankov has six goals and four assists in 27 matches. Dovbik has 14 goals and seven assists in 29 matches for the Spanish team.
Girona is second in La Liga with 62 points. The away match of Michel’s team against Getafe will take place on March 16. After this match, Tsygankov and Dovbik must go to the Ukrainian national team camp for the playoff qualifying matches for the 2024 European Championship.
