Midfielder Shakhtar Pedrinho plans to go on loan again in the summer if the war continues in Ukraine. The player’s agent, Will Dantas, spoke about Sao Paulo’s interest in the midfielder.
“The coach of Sao Paulo spoke to me on the phone. I can’t say who exactly it was, but it was a great honor for Pedrinho to receive this call because it is recognition. Everything is open because he will return to Shakhtar in July. Everything will depend on what happens in Ukraine at this time. If the war continues, I think we will arrange another lease. But we need to sit down and talk,” the agent said.
Pedro Victor Delmino da Silva or simply Pedrinho was bought by Shakhtar from Benfica in 2021 for 18 million euros. He managed to play only 19 matches for the Orange-and-Blacks in all tournaments (4 goals, 3 assists), after which the Russian full-scale invasion broke out, and the footballer went on loan to Atletico Mineiro.
At the end of last year, it was reported that Shakhtar no longer intended to rent out the 25-year-old Brazilian and wanted to return him to the squad. In February, the midfielder signed a new contract with the Miners until 2029. The player’s loan agreement with Atletico Mineiro expires on June 30, after which Pedrinho must return to Shakhtar.
Marino Pusic’s team is leading the UPL, three points ahead of its closest pursuer Krivbass. In the next round, Shakhtar will play Obolon on March 30.
