Gymnast Karina Kireeva told that she did not expect high results at the Moscow Grand Prix and also noted that exercises without apparatus were the most difficult for her.
Kireeva won the exercises with ribbon and clubs and became third in the hoop final of the Grand Prix of Rhythmic Gymnastics Moscow-2024, which takes place from March 13 to 17 at the Irina Viner-Usmanova Gymnastics Palace. The performances were evaluated according to the rules of the All-Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation (VFKhG).
“At the beginning, everything didn’t go very well, but I played today for myself and for the public, to please them. Everything went well in the clubs and ribbon. I didn’t think I would win. I just went out and played. And the results, of course, were surprising. Thank you to the judges who appreciated my performances so much.
— Are clubs and ribbons your favorite types?
– It depends. This season’s favorite exercise is the ribbon.
— A pointless exercise was recently introduced, what do you think of this look?
— I like it because you can show yourself from the other side. There are no throws here, here you can show the plasticity of movements and other elements that do not fit into objects.
— Are these exercises easier or more difficult for you?
– Of course, it’s more difficult. When we play with an object, we can rest a little by throwing, but here we are always moving, always doing something: paths, elements. This is the hardest thing without an object.
— The Russian Championship took place recently, share your impressions.
— It went pretty well. We were getting ready. Of course, I didn’t expect the silver in the all-around either. I went out and did my job, and then the judges decided.
— How is your health, are you worried about something?
– Everything is fine.
— Where are you planning to play next time?
— I think next time I will participate in the first stage of the Strongest Cup. Maybe there will still be competitions before that,” Kireeva told .
