— Unfortunately, the results differ from those of the Russian Cup. But there are also positive aspects: Elizaveta Kuzina jumped well and Yulia Timoshinina steadily improved her result. Things didn’t go very well with the guys. Zhenya Kuznetsov doesn’t train much due to problems with his hand, Nikita Shleicher was poisoned before the training camp – he spent more time recovering than training, so the springboard was difficult. I don’t know what happened to Ruslan Ternov on the tower. I expected more from the guys – the quality of the jumps itself should be better.

“But the last jump from Ternovy today was simply incredible!”

— It was the last point, the final jump. And I think they would also give him the same “ten” at international competitions. He can do it. But such a performance in individual and synchronized jumps did not work.

— Maybe he feels freer, not in the classic look?

— Most likely, he feels psychologically freer. But how nice that the competition ended with such a beautiful jump!

— How do you evaluate women’s synchronized jumps?

— I liked Victoria Kazantseva and Ekaterina Belyaeva – they were second at the Cup, they don’t train together much, there is a perspective. Elizaveta Kuzina/Kristina Ilyinykh really enjoyed the training sessions. And at the Ilyins competition something happened with the individual jump – she became nervous, upset, today she jumped without emotion.

Konanykhina is recovering, so she and Timoshinina have not been in sync on the platform. It would be interesting to see their rivalry with Kazantseva/Belyaeva.

On the 3m springboard, Kazantseva/Nadezhda Trifonova proved that they could fight with Maria Polyakova/Vitalia Koroleva. The program allows them, but there is little nervousness.
