The Ukrainian reached 216.5 meters on the flying hill in Vikersund
Ukrainian Evgeniy Marusyak installed a new one national record at the 2023/24 World Cup stage ski jumping in Vikersund, Norway.
Evgeniy took the final 11th place in the competition on the flying springboard. Before this, the best result of Ukraine was the 18th position of the same Marusyak. He also won it in flights in April 2023 in Slovenian Planica.
In Vikersund, the Ukrainian flew to 216.5 meters in difficult wind conditions. Having received good compensation for the wind, Evgeniy earned 215.4 points. Austrian Stefan Kraft won the competition with 244.5 points.
Marusyak’s result is the second longest in the history of Ukraine. The record (223 meters) also belongs to Evgeniy. He showed this result a few days earlier in qualifying in Vikersund.
