Athletistic/ Figure skating. Olympic champion Alexei Yagudin recalled his conversation with Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva.
Valieva was disqualified for 4 years for doping. The athlete was deprived of awards during her adult career.
“I spoke to Kamila a day before the disqualification verdict was announced. And then I didn’t see her.
We spoke with Valieva. She admitted what the interrogations were like. Simply to the point of tears. At the 2022 Beijing Olympics, I saw everything and understood that it was a dead end,” Yagudin said in an interview with Laysan Utyasheva’s YouTube channel.
Valieva will be able to return to the ice after disqualification no earlier than December 2025.
