Dane Wingegaard wins Tour de France ahead of two-time winner Pogacar

The 25-year-old has also won two Grand Tour events.

Danish cyclist Jonas Wingegaard from the Jumbo team — Visma won the overall standings Tour de France.

The 25-year-old racer was 3 and a half minutes ahead of the two-time winner of the Big Loop, last year’s champion Slovenian Tadej Pogacar. Third place went to Tour de France 18 winner Geraint Thomas.

Wingegaard’s Jumbo-Visma team won 6 stages and 3 out of 4 prize jerseys. Three victories on account of Wout van Aert, one – Christophe Laporte. Van Art also won the green jersey of the best points rider.

Wingegaard won two stages of the Grand Tour. According to the results of the race, in addition to the yellow jersey of the leader of the overall standings, Jonas also became the owner of the pea jersey of the “mountain king”.
