Fury: Who am I to say Mike Tyson or Jake Paul shouldn’t box?

The event will take place on July 20th in Arlington, Texas.

WBC heavyweight title holder Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KO) commented on the upcoming fight of one of the most outstanding champions in heavyweight history Mike Tyson (50-6, 44 KO) against a famous YouTube blogger and boxer Jake Paul (9-1, 6 KOs).

“I think this is a fantastic event for boxing. We have a legend and YouTuber boxer who has taken the game by storm. Who am I to say Mike Tyson or Jake Paul shouldn’t box?”

“Okay, this guy is 57 years old, but he was the king of the heavyweight division. Another guy makes money by playing on the computer and started boxing a year ago. So it’s a pretty even match. People say it’s a shitty fight, but I’m sure they’ll watch it.”

The event will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, USA. The date is July 20, 2024. The fight will be broadcast on Netflix.

27-year-old Jake Paul, like his older brother Logan, has recently been trying his hand at professional boxing. In December 2023, the blogger defeated Andre August in the first round, and more recently, in March, he knocked out Ryan Bourland just as quickly.

Paul Jr. suffered his only defeat in February 2023 to Tommy Fury. The brother of the “Gypsy King” won by split decision.

In recent months, Mike Tyson has been known to help former UFC champion Francis Ngannou prepare for his fight with WBC world champion Tyson Fury. As a result, the Cameroonian pretty much crushed the Briton and even knocked down his opponent, but still lost by a split decision.

In November 2020, Tyson had an exhibition fight with former world champion in five weight categories, Roy Jones. The match ended in a draw. On the undercard of the event, Jake Paul knocked out Nate Robinson.

Tyson had his last professional fight in 2005. Mike lost by TKO in the sixth round to Irishman Kevin McBride.
