The blue-and-yellows beat the Balkan team in the first round with a score of 2:0
The president Ukrainian Football Association Andrey Shevchenko congratulated Ukrainian youth team with a victory over North Macedonia U-19 in the qualification for Euro 2024. The head of the UAF also greeted his son Christiana Shevchenko with his debut in the team.
“What game! Congratulations to our U-19 youth team on their victory over North Macedonia. Two more matches separate us from Euro 2024.”
“There was incredible energy both on the field and in the stadium! Thanks to Dmitry Mikhailenko and his guys. It’s a special joy to congratulate player number 7 on his debut in the youth team,” wrote the UAF president.
The Ukrainian U-19 team confidently beat North Macedonia (2:0) and topped the group of the 7th elite round of qualifying for Euro 2024. For the blue-yellow team, Daniil Krevsun and Matvey Ponomarenko scored goals.
Note that the son of the UAF president, Christian Shevchenko, made his debut in the Ukrainian youth team. Christian came on as a substitute in the 79th minute.
In the next round, Ukraine will play against Latvia U-19 on March 23. The selection will end with a match with Switzerland on March 26. The winner of the group will advance to the European Championships.
