Defender Newcastle Sven Bothman will miss six to nine months with a knee injury.
The Dutchman was injured in the match with Manchester City in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup (0:2). The examination showed damage to the anterior cruciate ligament. The defender will undergo surgery next week.
Botman made 22 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing two assists. The Dutchman had previously missed several months due to a knee injury.
Newcastle are in tenth place in the Premier League with 40 points. In the next round, the Magpies will play West Ham on March 30.
