Milosevic’s team lost to Ukraine in a dramatic match
Head coach Bosnia and Herzegovina Savo Milosevic commented on the defeat from Ukraine (1:2) in the semi-finals of the playoffs of qualifying for the 2024 European Championship.
“The 85 minutes of the game were such that I couldn’t have asked for more. It’s a pity for the guys… The opponent didn’t have even half a chance, which means that we did our job well.”
“You learn from defeats and the team realized that they could do much more than in the previous six months and before. I take some pleasure in the fact that Bosnia and Herzegovina have shown that they can play against stronger opponents. This is the Euro level, but it turned out to be not enough.”
At the beginning of the second half, the Bosnians succeeded in their attack, during which Nikolai Matvienko cut the ball into his own goal. The Ukrainians managed to equalize the score at the end of normal time thanks to a goal from Roman Yaremchuk. And three minutes later, Yaremchuk made an effective cross to Artem Dovbik, which brought the blue-yellows victory.
In the qualifying final, Sergei Rebrov’s team will play against Iceland. The nominally home match for Ukraine will take place in Wroclaw, Poland, on March 26.
