Skier Terentyev on relay gold in the Chechen Republic: “A little extra for me, there is progress”

Double bronze medalist at the 2022 Olympics Alexander Terentiev told that his performance in the winning relay at the Russian Championship demonstrates that all is not lost for him.

On Friday, the Arkhangelsk region team consisting of Terentyev, Alexey Chervotkin, Savely Korostelev and Alexander Bolshunov won the relay race at the Russian Championship.

— I’m glad I had my scene, I broke down correctly. I felt at least somewhat normal. The last few sprints were absolutely terrible. I couldn’t even finish the prologue. It’s a little extra for me that all is not lost.

— So this is a starting point of sorts?

– Certainly. I’m better. There is progress. The main thing is that it doesn’t get worse. Otherwise, I was scared after doing three sprints in three months, and still in pain. It is better now. Lighter and lighter.

— Are you ready to run 50 km?

– No. I will not participate in the marathon.

— Are you going to the Russian Cup final?

— I will come to Kirovsk, of course. I will definitely perform there in the sprint, and then we will see how I feel,” Terentyev told .

The Alfa-Bank Russian Championship takes place from March 16 to 24 at the Malinovka ski center in the Arkhangelsk region.
