The blue-and-yellows showed character in the match with Bosnia and Herzegovina
Defender Ukrainian national team Efim Konoplya commented on the strong-willed victory of the blue-yellows over Bosnia and Herzegovina (2:1) in the semi-finals of the Euro 2024 qualifying playoffs. The Shakhtar player scored an assist for Roman Yaremchuk.
“If football had been normal and predictable, we would have been able to prove our advantage much earlier. Until the break. But football is a complicated thing. The victory in Zenica took a lot of energy, but gave us emotions and energy for the next confrontation. Gratitude to the fans was felt in your heart! Forward, Ukraine!” wrote Konoplya on Instagram.
24-year-old Konoplya played 11 matches for the Ukrainian national team. The defender has 1 goal and 2 assists.
In the Euro 2024 qualifying final, Sergei Rebrov’s team will play against Iceland. The nominally home match for Ukraine will take place in Wroclaw on March 26. The meeting starts at 21:45 Kyiv time. The winner of the confrontation will advance to the 2024 European Championship, where they will play in a quartet with Belgium, Slovakia and Romania.
