Liverpool with head coach Eriksson beat Ajax in a charity match of legends

The two teams scored six goals and gave incredible emotions

Liverpool And Ajax held a charity match of legends, which ended in victory for the English club – 4:2.

Almost 60 thousand fans attended the match. All proceeds will be donated to the Reds’ charity and the Forever Reds association of former Liverpool footballers.

The match featured Jerzy Dudek, Sander Westerveld, Martin Skrtel, Fabio Aurelio, Gregory Vignal and Djibril Cissé. Former Liverpool and Ajax striker Ryan Babel will play for the two teams.

The victory for Liverpool was brought by goals from Vignal, Cissé, El Zhar and Fernando Torres, who played the entire match in tandem with Steven Gerrard.

The most touching moment of the meeting was the participation of former England coach Sven-Göran Eriksson, who joined the Reds coaching staff. Recall that in January Ericsson admitted that he was diagnosed with terminal (incurable) cancer. The Swedish specialist believes that he has no more than a year to live.

Eriksson is known for his work in the England national team (2001 – 2006), Manchester City, Sampdoria and Lazio. During his career he also managed Benfica, Leicester and Mexico, among others. He won the UEFA Cup with Gothenburg, reached the KEC final with Benfica, became a Serie A triumph with Lazio, and with England twice reached the quarterfinals of the World Cup.
