Earlier in Montreal (Canada), the Japanese figure skater won her third consecutive gold medal at the World Championships.
“I understand that I can’t be at the top forever. When the Russians come back, I won’t be able to win anymore. I now have three gold medals at the World Championship, but each one has its own story,” said Sakamoto . quoted by Sports.
Since spring 2022, Russian figure skaters have no longer participated in international tournaments.
