The blue-yellows qualified as the best team in the European quota

Ukrainian women’s team won a license for Olympic Games 2024 in team competitions sword fencing.

The Ukrainians earned a spot at the World Cup stage in Nanjing, China. The team was represented Vlada Kharkova, Joan Faby Bejura, Elena Krivitskaya and Inna Brovko.

At the tournament, the Ukrainian team beat Switzerland (45:44) and Poland (44:39). In the semi-finals, the Ukrainians lost to the Chinese team, and then lost the bronze medal match to Hungary (38:45), finishing the competition in fourth place.

As a result, the Ukrainian team received a ticket to the Olympics under the European quota. The main competitors in the ranking, the Estonians, lost to Hungary in the second round. The US team, which claimed the top 4 in the world rankings, also did not make it to the semifinals, leaving the Ukrainians with a continental quota.

Ukraine will be able to enter four athletes into the 2024 Olympics in women’s epee. Three of them are eligible to participate in individual competitions.

Ukrainian women won the second team license for the Games in Paris in fencing. Previously, the saber team won a ticket to the Olympics.
