NBA commissioner disappointed with competition aspect of latest show
Commissioner National Basketball Association Adam Silver allowed a change in format NBA All-Star Game in future. Instead, the team of the West and the East propose to organize a meeting USA against world team.
“I talked to a lot of the players after the game, and I got the feeling that they felt, ‘Well, we know what the league wants, and we know TNT wants us to play hard, but we’re just not going to do it.’ .
“Once they step on the court, especially the younger players, they see it as a mid-season break, an opportunity to have fun, an opportunity to take a break from a very long season. We need to try different things and make it a celebration of basketball.”

In the 2024 All-Star Game, the East team beat the West (211:186). Observers noted the passive play of the basketball players in defense, which allowed them to show a record result in points.
The teams combined for an All-Star Game record 397 points. The East also set new marks for most points by a single team (211), most points in a half (107) and most 3-pointers made and shot attempts (42 of 97).
