Athletistic/ Others. The famous sports commentator and TV presenter Viktor Gusev found himself in the epicenter of the tragic events that occurred at the Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk. He was in the concert hall with his wife and was able to survive.
Recall that on March 22, before the start of the concert of the rock band “Picnic” at the Crocus City Hall, there was a large-scale shooting, explosion and fire.
“I feel very sorry for the people who, most likely, were next to me that evening at the souvenir kiosks, at the photo booths, on the stairs… They had just arrived at the concert… Kind people and kind, when work “The week was behind us, and the show was in front of our favorite group and two days off. I don’t know why I’m writing this. I have no words,” Gusev wrote on social networks some time after the tragedy.
Soon Viktor Gusev published an article in which he told exactly how he managed to escape.
“Sofia Meyer saved us. A Crocus employee first helped block the doors of all the cubicles, which we had already started to barricade with furniture so as not to let the terrorists in. And then, saying: ” Follow me!”, she led us out of a narrow corridor through the smoke, under the sound of gunshots on the stairs leading to the street, this is the only way to salvation,” Gusev wrote on social networks.
A famous football commentator managed to escape during a shooting at Crocus Town Hall.
Then the name of the real hero, 15-year-old Islam, became known. The teenager, who plays in the children’s team of FC Spartak (Moscow), saved more than 100 people during the terrorist attack.
An eighth-grader worked part-time at Crocus as a locker room attendant. He said that previously all employees were given instructions on how to act in an emergency. Islam noted that he was simply acting as instructed.
At the time of the attack on Crocus City Hall, Islam was on floor -1. When the first sounds of gunfire were heard, he thought it was due to technical problems with the escalators. But the moment people suddenly began to disperse in different directions, Islam understood that it was a terrorist attack.
As the shooting and fire began, the eighth-grader began directing people toward emergency exits. At first, the large crowd took the wrong direction and found themselves at a dead end. Islam began to lead the evacuation process independently. He was able to guide people out of the narrow passage into the Expo territory and then through the office building to the street – safely.
“I realized that if I didn’t react, I would lose my life and the lives of many people. Honestly, it was very scary. When I was in a crowd of people, walking towards the door to open it, I thought they “I could get out of the stairs or the escalator, I don’t know”, throw a grenade or open fire. Thank goodness nothing happened, I managed to open the door in time and let everyone go out to the Expo,” said 15-year-old Islam.
Soon it was clarified on social networks that Islam was a Spartak fan, but he played for the backyard red and white team.
We then learned that a 15-year-old boy would be taking part in a Media League charity match, which would raise money to help everyone affected in Crocus.
The very next day, after everyone learned about Islam’s feat, representatives of Spartak contacted him and invited him to the Red and White Stadium. The boy met the team’s players who thanked him for his heroism. Also from the Islam club received a personalized T-shirt and a subscription to all Spartak home matches.
