Figure skater Elizaveta Tuktamysheva shared his emotions while watching the singles tournament at the World Championships.
During a tournament in Montreal, an American figure skater Ilya Malinin won the first world championship title by performing six quadruple jumps during the free skate, including an Axel at 4.5 turns. The American set a world record for points scored in the free skate (227.79), beating Nathan Chen’s score (224.92) from 2019.
“I just looked at the men, without knowing the results.
What a world championship! Is Ilya (Malinin) even from our planet?
And what a comeback Adam (Xiao Him Fa) has made! Such stories, of course, are impressive,” Tuktamysheva wrote on her Telegram channel.
Malinin was born in the United States to the family of figure skaters Tatyana Malinina and Roman Skornyakov, who competed internationally for Uzbekistan.
