The miners are leading in the UPL, ahead of Krivbass in additional indicators
Shakhtar goalkeeper coach, ex-Manchester United player Raymond van der Gouw commented on the Donetsk club’s plans for the second part of the 2023/24 season in the UPL.
“I’ve been here since January. Of course, the work has certain peculiarities due to the war, but it is a beautiful country and I feel very happy in Shakhtar. I guess it’s a friendly club with fantastic people around, a top club. But there are also some difficulties, because we don’t stay in one place for long.”
“I think these two months will go by very quickly. My expectations? We have a very talented team with players with great potential. So I expect us to do well if everyone stays focused and works hard in training.”
“If we do this, we will remain at the top of the table, in our current position, and it will not be so easy because we have a fairly young team. I hope we get one or two trophies: play in the semi-finals of the Cup, which is very close to the final. But the biggest challenge is to win the championship. I hope all be fine. Everyone will work for the team to get the result we are striving for.”
Shakhtar leads the UPL with 43 points. Marino Pusic’s team is ahead of Krivbass in terms of additional indicators, having played two matches less. In the next round, Shakhtar will play against Obolon on March 30.
