Athletistic/Figure skating. Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva, 17, no longer receives a scholarship from the President of the Russian Federation following a decision by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) which resulted in a 4-year suspension.

According to Decree No. 368 of the President of the Russian Federation of March 31, 2011, personalized scholarships are provided to lifelong Olympic champions and silver and bronze medalists when they are included in the list of candidates for the team national. The scholarship amount is between 30,000 and 52,000 rubles.

“According to the order of the Ministry of Sports of Russia dated 07/03/2024 No. 263, the scholarship of the President of the Russian Federation is paid to the following athletes: Nikita Katsalapov – champion of the team competition of the 2014 Olympic Games Sochi Games, as well as Anastasia Mishina, Alexander Gallyamov and Mark Kondratyuk – bronze medalists of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games. Due to the disqualification of Kamila Valieva and her exclusion from the list of candidates for the team Russian National Figure Skating Championship, the payment of the scholarship of the President of the Russian Federation to her was stopped,” TASS quoted a representative of the press service of the Ministry of Sports as saying.
