Figure skaters Mironova and Ustenko: “We are now looking for an idea for a new program”

Ice dance artists Ekaterina Mironova And Yevgeny Ustenko told about the most notable impressions and achievements of the past season, as well as plans for the future.

Mironova and Ustenko are champions of St. Petersburg, bronze medalists of the Russian Grand Prix stage in Krasnoyarsk. They train in Elena Sokolova’s group. At the national championship, the duo took sixth place.

— We really liked the organization of the tournaments last season. It is the best organization of competitions in Russia and perhaps in the world. This season we broke a personal record for points in the free skate. Our performance at the Russian Championship was memorable – we skated easily, warmly, with bright emotions. It’s just a shame that we couldn’t come to Magnitogorsk due to health reasons.

Now that the offseason is here, we plan to relax. Then I want to work on gliding, lightness, upper body, arms, shoulders. “And now we are looking for an idea for a new program,” Mironova and Ustenko told .

— I remember a moment during one of the tournaments, where we were doing support, I continued to look at the time table and shouted to Zhenya: “We are standing, we are still standing, we are standing, Zhenya, we’ I’m standing! We haven’t provided this support for so long. Personally, after this season, it became easier for me to perform, to enjoy the competition and to worry less. I also partially master sign language,” Mironova noted.

“Our underwater photoshoot was a challenge for me: when you’re afraid to swim, but you have to spend 30-40 seconds underwater over and over again to get a good photo. “I learned to express emotions and feelings only using my hands, without a face and facial expressions, in order to convey the entire palette of the ichtyander’s internal feelings,” Ustenko added.
