The choreographer Betina Popova, in collaboration with Alena Kostornaya said the figure skater is actively recovering from the operation.

In mid-February, pair skating performance with Georgy Kounitsa Kostornaya underwent shoulder surgery. It was reported that the athlete is expected to return to action in six months.

– Everything is fine, we are training. Alena is recovering from the operation, and very actively. Kostornaya is the 2020 European single skating champion. The athlete has been pair skating with Kunitz since 2023.
