Defender turns down Chelsea offer
Barcelona intends to close a deal on the transfer of the Sevilla defender in the coming days Jules Kunde. It is expected that the transition of the 23-year-old Frenchman will cost the Catalans about 60 million euros.
The management of the blue garnets is working on the transfer of Kunde directly from the United States, where the team is holding a pre-season tour. If the deal is successful, the defender will fly out of Europe and join a new team in New York.
Previously, Kunde was interested in Chelsea, offering an amount close to the requested €65m by Sevilla. However, the player himself insisted on wanting to compete at the Camp Nou and turned down the Blues’ offer.
Barcelona were initially not ready to complete the purchase of the player. But an additional deal to sell television rights helped to increase the transfer budget.
Kunde made 44 appearances for Sevilla in all competitions last season, scoring 4 goals and scoring an assist.
Barcelona finished last season in second place in La Liga. Sevilla finished fourth in La Liga. The new season in the Example starts on August 13th.
