On the evening of March 22, several men in camouflage burst into Crocus and began shooting at visitors, after which a fire broke out in the concert hall.

“Our Paralympic family is experiencing great grief. As a result of the terrible terrorist attack on the Crocus Town Hall, Ekaterina Popova, a member of the Russian table tennis team for disabled people, died. She was a great athlete and a wonderful person.

His passing is a huge loss for our sporting community and for the national disabled table tennis team. With her achievements, Ekaterina made a significant contribution to the development of this area of ​​​​sport. This is an immeasurable loss for us.

Ekaterina Popova was an Honored Master of Sports of Russia and a two-time national champion. She represented the national team at the European Championships and other prestigious international competitions, where she won silver and bronze medals.
