Seven Lviv football players left for the youth and Olympic teams of Ukraine
Head coach Ruha Vitaly Ponomarev spoke about the team’s preparation for the 22nd round match Ukrainian Premier League With LNZ.
“During the pause at the national team match, the team worked as usual. Seven of our players went to play for the youth and Olympic teams of Ukraine and, of course, we missed them. We constantly monitor how our guys play in the national teams and are pleased that they represent the honor of Ukraine on the international stage and want as many of our players as possible to be in demand at this level.
“At the same time, the period of their absence from the club is not easy, because it is difficult to prepare when most of the main team is absent. Also, not everyone can approach the first match after a break in optimal condition.”
“LNZ is a quality team and it’s difficult to predict what scenario the game against this opponent will take. Although, of course, Rukh will try to impose his football on the Cherkasy team and play from a position of pressure. In winter, our opponent carried out a good transfer campaign and strengthened its squad. In particular, LNZ signed quality foreign players. We are preparing for a serious confrontation and have great respect for the people of Cherkassy.”
Rukh ranks fifth in the UPL with 36 points. Ponomarev’s team won three victories in a row in the last matches. The 22nd round match with LNZ will take place on April 1.
