“Our skaters will be allowed to carry the flag and anthem at the 2026 Olympic Games” – Tatyana Tarasova

Honored Coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova during a conversation with , she expressed the opinion that Russian figure skaters would be allowed to participate in the 2026 Olympics without restrictions.

By decision of the International Skating Union (ISU), Russian figure skaters are suspended from participation in international competitions due to the events in Ukraine. At the 2024 Summer Olympics, individual admission of Russians will be in neutral status according to the criteria of a special commission.

— Would you be interested in going to the Olympics as a spectator?

— I have been to the Olympic Games several times and I have always won. I’m not going to the Games as a spectator.

— Do you believe that Russian figure skaters will be fully admitted to the 2026 Winter Olympics without restrictions?

— Why won’t ours be at the next Games? I think they will already be fully admitted, with the flag, the anthem,” Tarasova told .

The Winter Olympic Games will be held in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo (Italy) from February 6 to 22, 2026.
