“This is a sporting event that brought joy to people through tennis and showed the power of sport when it connects us without limits to help other people.
Ukraine, stay strong, we are stronger with our friends Iga Swiatek, Agnieszka Radwańska, Martin Pavelski and other Poles on board.
I want to thank every person who contributed to UNITED24, a fundraising platform launched by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and my charitable foundation.
Special thanks to my friends Andrey Shevchenko and Sergey Stakhovsky for their great support.
The war is not over, and together we continue to fight and do our best,” Svitolina wrote to him Instagram.
Note that Shventek organized this charity match to help Ukrainians during the war. He got two million zlotys (more than 400 thousand euros). These funds were donated to the UNITED 24 platform, the Elina Svitolina Foundation, and UNICEF Polska.
The event was also attended by the former coach of the men’s national football team of Ukraine, Andriy Shevchenko.
