Lyubenovich: He promised that we would play attacking football. This is what we show

The mentor congratulated the team on the successful result and recognized the draw as natural

Head coach Minaya Zeljko Ljubenovic commented on the saved draw against Alexandria (2:2) in the home match of the 22nd round Ukrainian Premier League.

“I want to congratulate the team. I want to say that the game we showed at 0:2 was worth a lot. One point goes into our piggy bank. Thanks for playing and let’s move on.”

“We agreed to play from behind to zero, and from the front, I assured the guys that we would score. But it didn’t work out that way; we couldn’t do it. But after 0:2 I said that there was still a lot of time, the first goal was scored on time, then Gunichev came out and scored – the right substitution. We could have won. But today’s draw is natural. It’s interesting that before Gunichev entered the field, I told him that he would definitely score – and he scored.”

“Regarding the fact that the team scores a lot: when I took over the team, I said that we would play attacking football. This is what we show with our football on the field. We will try to score even more, because we need to score and win matches, the tournament position obliges us.”

“Everyone lives for this team – some off the field, but we do everything on the field to maintain our place in the UPL. As for myself, I don’t think about any other teams, Minaj is in first place for me now, we are working to achieve results and stay in the UPL,” summed up the Serbian specialist.

Let us remind you that Minaj managed to save himself in a dramatic match by being sent off and missing a penalty, losing 0:2 in the opening of the second half. Substitute Egor Gunichev brought a draw to the Transcarpathian club.

Minaj continues to be in last place in the table, but Lyubenovic’s team is only two points behind the play-off zone and five points behind the saving 12th place.
