Bondarenko on the successful start of the BMX season: “For young people, we are a goal, and that is normal”

Winner of the European BMX racing championship Yaroslava Bondarenko said she stays in the sport because she loves what she does and realizes how important it is for young people to follow leaders.

Bondarenko won the first two stages of the Russian BMX Cup.

— Have you had any adventures while preparing for the season?

“This time, thank God, everything went according to plan.” Now we have many departures planned, the main thing is to have time to implement everything planned and show a good result in the end. I have no time to relax, I am fully focused on training and competitions,” Bondarenko told .

— What was the coolest song of the last two seasons?

– As before, at home – Moscow, Maryino.

– But there are also more recent ones?

— Yes, an excellent supercross track was opened in Saransk, but a home track is a home track. I still have to ride on the Saransk track and show even better results. Additionally, the main goal of the season is the Russian Championship, which will be held in Saransk. Everything else is a secondary competition, even if you want to win every competition, regardless of your condition.

— Where does such supermotivation come from?

– Love what you do and do what you love. And no one knows what will happen next. Maybe they’ll give the green light and that’s it, off we go. In addition, young people are growing up, for whom we are an essential target. We are not just elders, we are leaders, they follow us.

– “Target” looks dangerous. Benchmark?

– Including a benchmark, but also an objective, they want to get ahead of us, that’s normal. May God allow them to catch up with us as quickly as possible, the level is only growing. But we won’t give up so easily.
