The Ukrainian repeated Stuani’s achievement in the 2017/18 season
Ukrainian striker Girona Artem Dovbik set a new achievement.
Dovbik became the second player in Girona history to score more than 15 goals in one La Liga season. Artem achieved this achievement in the match with Betis (3:2), scoring a double.
The first Girona player to score more than 15 goals in one season in La Liga was Cristian Stuani. In the 2017/18 championship, Girona’s debut in La Liga, the forward scored 21 goals. The following season, Stuani repeated his achievement, scoring 19 goals.
Dovbik has 16 goals in Primera 2023/24. Along with Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid) and Ante Budimir (Osasuna), the Ukrainian is the top scorer in the Spanish championship.
Girona is in third place with 65 points, two points behind Barcelona. In the next round, the team of Dovbik and Viktor Tsygankov will play away against Atlético.
