Ukrainian-language broadcast record, the most titled Ukrainian player in majors and tournament MVP
Ukrainian organization Natus Vincere became the tournament champion P.G.L. Major Copenhagen 2024 By Counter-Strike 2, defeating FaZe Clan in a spectacular final. Sport Arena has collected the main facts about NAVI’s victory at the tournament in the capital of Denmark.
NAVI will forever go down in history as first winners of a CS2 major. Let us remind you that the release of the new version of the game took place in September 2023. Before this, professional tournaments were played in CS:GO.
If we consider the entire history of Counter-Strike, then NAVI is only the third organization that won a major more than once:
- Astralis – four victories (ELEAGUE Major Atlanta 2017, FACEIT Major: London 2018, Intel Extreme Masters XIII – Katowice Major 2019, StarLadder Berlin Major 2019);
- Fnatic – three victories (DreamHack Winter 2013, ESL One: Katowice 2015, ESL One: Cologne 2015);
- NAVI – two victories (PGL Major Stockholm 2021, PGL Major Copenhagen 2024).
Justinas “jL” Lekavicius, Mihai “iM” Ivan and Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen became the first representatives of Lithuania, Romania and Finland respectively, who won the Counter-Strike major. In total, players from 17 countries became champions of majors. The Danes won most often – 23 times.

Igor “w0nderful” Zhdanov became fourth Ukrainian in history to win a major, after Valery “b1t” Vakhovsky, Alexander “s1mple” Kostylev and Daniil “Zeus” Teslenko. Zhdanov won the tournament at the age of 19. Let us remember that he joined “Born to Win” in October 2023, becoming a replacement for s1mple.
b1t – the most titled Ukrainian player in the majors. Success in Copenhagen was the second in his career for 21-year-old Vakhovsky. In 2021, also as a member of NAVI, he triumphed at the PGL Major Stockholm.
Also, for the second time, the NAVI coach became the winner of the major Andrey “B1ad3” Gorodensky.
