Athletistic / Others. President of the All-Russian Sailing Federation Sergei Dzhienbaev explained how participation in qualifications for the Olympic Games takes place.
Djinibayev said that participation in this competition is an individual matter. But as for the leaders of the national team, they have already refused to participate. The reason is patriotic considerations and the lack of administrative and advisory support.
“Each athlete requesting neutral status must pay the international federation a certain amount to check whether they meet the criteria to obtain it. According to unverified information, this will cost around 5,000 euros. And I do not exclude that our athlete, who manages to request it, the regatta may be canceled on the last day due to non-compliance with the neutral status,” Sergei added.
The “Last Chance” regatta will be held from April 20 to 27.
