Cunningham: Usyk will win on points or Fury will be disqualified

The American believes that the “Gypsy King” will act dirty against the Ukrainian

American boxer Steve Cunningham considers the world champion according to WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO heavyweight titles Alexandra Usika favorite in the fight against the WBC title holder Tyson Fury.

“I think Usyk will win a decision over Fury. Either that or Fury will be disqualified. Fury will have to lean on Usyk to tire him out – as he usually does. But I think the referee will be warned about this before the fight and Fury will lose points.”

Cunningham remained true to his forecast, which he made in February. The American previously stated that Tyson would not be able to compete with the Ukrainian in skill.

Steve lost to Tyson Fury by knockout in the seventh round in 2013. At the same time, during the battle, the “Gypsy King” was knocked down.

The unification fight between Usik and Fury was first scheduled for February 17, but due to Tyson’s injury it was postponed to May 18. The event will be hosted by Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The WBC proposes to reform the judges for the reporting fight, increasing their number to 5-6 people. Penalties for boxers who refuse to fight are $10 million.

WBC President Mauricio Suleiman announced that an agreement had been concluded between the boxers for a re-fight. The WBO is also ready to sanction the second fight. It was reported that the fate of a possible rematch depends on the holding of the first fight. Fury said that the contract has a mandatory rematch clause, and a re-fight with Usyk could take place in October.
