Dovbik became the first Ukrainian since Shevchenko to score more than 15 goals in a season in the top 5 European leagues

The Ukrainian has already scored 16 goals for Girona in this La Liga season

Ukrainian forward Girona Artem Dovbik became the first Ukrainian since Andrey Shevchenkowho scored more than 15 goals per season in the top 5 European leagues.

This season, the Ukrainian played 28 matches in the Spanish Championship, in which he scored 16 goals and gave five assists. Along with Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid) and Ante Budimir (Osasuna), the Ukrainian is the top scorer in the Spanish championship.

The last time something like this was done was by the legendary striker Andrei Shevchenko, who managed to score 19 goals for Milan in the Italian Championship in the 2005/06 season.

Let us remind you that Dovbik also became the second player in the history of Girona to score more than 15 goals in one La Liga season. Artem achieved this achievement in the match with Betis (3:2), scoring a double.

Girona is in third place with 65 points, two points behind Barcelona. In the next round, the team of Dovbik and Viktor Tsygankov will play away against Atlético.
