Olympic champion Veronica Stepanova won the 10 km freestyle pursuit race at the PhosAgro Russian Cup final in Kirovsk.
Stepanova, starting from first position, posted a result of 25 minutes 37.1 seconds. Maria Istomina finished second (3rd starting number; +26.9 seconds). The first three were closed by the winner of the Games Tatyana Sorina (2nd starting number; +28.1 seconds).
The Russian Cup final in the Murmansk region will end on Sunday.
