A unique achievement of a 39-year-old American
Legendary Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James set a new achievement.
The 39-year-old American became the best scorer in basketball history. James surpassed the score of Brazilian basketball player Oscar Schmidt (49,737 points).
LeBron’s record took place in the NBA regular season match between the Lakers and Toronto Raptors (128:111). James’ 23 points gave him a career total of 49,738 points.
Note that the statistics include indicators scored in matches of the regular championships, playoffs, as well as matches for the national team at the World Championships and Olympic Games.
In March, the Lakers forward became the first basketball player in NBA history to score 40,000 points. James achieved another unique achievement in the match with the Denver Nuggets (114:124).
The Los Angeles Lakers are in ninth place in the NBA Western Conference standings.
