Athletistic / Figure skating. The Ministry of Sports reported an increase in population participation in mass sports. But among these figures a sad picture of figure skating is lost.
For the second year in a row, this is the figure that tops the anti-rating. If a year ago 75 thousand athletes left this sport, this year the figure is catastrophic – 375 thousand. Currently, only 247 thousand people are officially involved in figure skating in the country. Three years ago, that figure was 700,000. More than half of the athletes involved in figure skating last year left the sport in 2024.
