Sorin was pleased with the performance of skiers Stepanova, Pantrina and Korostelev in the classic time trial at the Russian Cup final

Veronica Stepanova Elizaveta Pantrina and Savely Korostelev showed good results in classic-style time trials at the Russian Cup, said ski coach Egor Sorin.

The classic-style time trial at the PhosAgro Russian Cup final in Kirovsk on Friday was won by Alexander Bolshunov, who covered a distance of 15 kilometers in 37 minutes 18.2 seconds. Savely Korostelev (+6.00) took second place, Alexey Chervotkin (+25.7) closed the leading trio.

Among women, the best in the 10 km distance was Anastasia Kuleshova, who finished with a result of 28 minutes 10.1 seconds. Veronika Stepanova (+13.5) took second place, Elizaveta Pantrina (+37.3) closed the top three.

– A good result, worthy. I think the favorites won. Kuleshova was the clear favorite, as was Bolshunov. Savely’s loss was small, but relevant. Bolshunov correctly calculated the distance. I lost a little in the first part, on the climbs, but then I did well on the plains and the easier ones. And he transmitted these sections with more power than Savely,” reports the correspondent of , reporting Sorin’s words.

— Did such a Bolshunov have no chance of winning?

– Apparently yes. But even (Korostelev) giving Chervotkin 20 seconds is worth a lot.

— What were Stepanova’s tasks?

— You can’t lose by much to Kuleshova. Keep at least 30 seconds in reserve on the mountain. She coped with the task. When Kuleshova is in good physical condition, it is very difficult to beat her in time trial classics. But I am satisfied with Stepanova’s performance.

— How would you rate Pantrina’s performance?

“She ran one of her best classic races.” Good result. The only downside was that I couldn’t hold off Kuleshova for the last kilometer in the easy part. She had to come get her, and those seven seconds didn’t stop her.

On Sunday, April 7, mass departures will take place in Kirovsk. Watch the broadcast of the women’s race from 9:35 a.m. (Moscow time) and the men’s race from 10:40 a.m. (Moscow time) on the channel, as well as on the sites sportbox.ru and matchtv.ru.
