Athletistic/Wrestling. Four licenses to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games in women’s wrestling were won by Russian women during the European qualifying tournament held in Baku, Azerbaijan. Remember that to obtain a license, athletes had to reach the final of the tournament.

In the semi-final matches, Khanum Velieva defeated Ukrainian Manola Skobelska, Alina Kasabieva defeated Mariana Kerdivare from Moldova, Natalya Malysheva defeated Greek Maria Prevolaraki and Nadezhda Sokolova defeated German Anastasia Blaivas. Russians competed in weight categories up to 68, 62, 53 and 50 kilograms, respectively.

Note that Rita Talismanova and Olga Khoroshavtseva could not qualify for the final.

Let us also remember that the Russian team already has ten tickets for the Paris Olympic Games, which will be held from July 26 to August 11. Eight other possible licenses remain available, two of which will be available during the Baku tournament tomorrow, April 7.
