Usik: Fury’s main trump card is his size, but I use everything against him

The Ukrainian noted that the “Gypsy King” always returns to battle after his falls

WBA, WBO, IBO and IBF World Heavyweight Champion Alexander Usik said that the main trump card of the WBC title holder Tyson Fury are its dimensions.

“His biggest asset is that he is very big, but in other circumstances that might not be an asset. Will I use his size against Fury? I will use everything against him.”

“Tyson Fury is a great fighter simply because even when he falls, he gets back up. And that made him one of the title holders.”

The unification fight between Usik and Fury was first scheduled for February 17, but due to Tyson’s injury it was postponed to May 18. The event will be hosted by Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The list of other fights that will take place as part of the boxing evening in Saudi Arabia is also known. Among them is the fight between Ukrainian Daniel Lapin and Portuguese Octavio Pudivitra for the WBA Continental light heavyweight title.

The WBC proposes to reform the judges for the reporting fight, increasing their number to 5-6 people. Penalties for boxers who refuse to fight are $10 million.

WBC President Mauricio Suleiman announced that an agreement had been concluded between the boxers for a re-fight. The WBO is also ready to sanction the second fight. It was reported that the fate of a possible rematch depends on the holding of the first fight. Fury said that the contract has a mandatory rematch clause, and a re-fight with Usyk could take place in October.
