36-year-old Djokovic is the oldest ATP ranking leader in history

The Serb broke Federer’s record set in the summer of 2018

Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic set a new record. He beat the achievement by one day Roger Federer and became the most age leader world ranking in ATP history.

As of today, April 7, 2024, Djokovic is 36 years and 321 days old. Thus, Federer’s achievement, set in June 2018, when the Swiss last topped the ATP rankings, has fallen.

Next week will be Novak’s 420th time on the first line of the world men’s rankings.

Apart from Djokovic and Federer, only Andre Agassi and Rafael Nadal have topped the ATP rankings over the age of 30.

In total, Djokovic has triumphed in 98 events throughout his career, 24 of which are Grand Slam tournaments. He also has seven Wimbledon triumphs. Novak last year became the first tennis player in history to win at least three times at all four Grand Slam tournaments.

This season, the Serbian has not yet managed to win a single trophy – he lost in the semi-finals of the Australian Open and in the third round of the Masters series event in Indian Wells.
