European Diving Championships Ilya Molchanov told that he and Yegor Lapin performed the compulsory program better at the Friendship Games than at the Russian Championship in Penza.
Molchanov and Lapin won the first stage of the Friendship Games in Kazan in synchronized diving from a three-meter springboard.
“In general, everything went well for us. The compulsory program was done better than at the Russian Championships, the sixth vault was also a few points higher. In general, the program went well. There was enough time for recovery, the jump was supportive. When there are fewer participants, it’s even easier – you don’t sit for long, you don’t calm down. I jumped, prepared for the next jump, and not much time passes, – said Molchanov.
– There was a task to show good attempts, but they did not pay attention to the fact that there were few pairs in the jump. We focused on our jumps, tried to make them as strong as possible,” Lapin said.
