President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation Elena Vyalbe spoke about a Russian skier who actively uses social networks and does not always show the results expected of her in races.
On Thursday, Vyalbe took part in a discussion on the role of communication media in popularizing sports as part of the forum “We are together. Sport”. The event takes place in Moscow.
— In our sport, there is an athlete who actively uses social networks. Everyone is divided into two camps. Someone really likes that we have such an athlete who tells and shows everything. Another part of people think they need to do more sports. And of course, she gets distracted and doesn’t always show the result that is expected of her.
— Do you involve bloggers in promoting your sport?
— We don’t attract bloggers. Our federation has its own social networks, they are run by specially trained people. None of the sports bloggers working in ski racing are positive. Everyone wants to find a problem. When they start digging through dirty laundry, it’s unethical and shouldn’t happen. The culture of a sports blogger lies somewhere in the future. Tomorrow, this will certainly not arise yet. Bloggers say that no one will watch or read that the skier Petrov won something, ”reports a correspondent, reporting Vyalba’s words.
