Milan saved a draw in a productive away match with Sassuolo

The outsider missed the opportunity to leave the relegation zone, Pioli’s team maintained their lead over Juventus

Sassuolo And Milan painted a productive draw in the match of the 32nd round of the Italian Serie A with a dramatic plot – 3:3.

Stefano Pioli deliberately went for a deep rotation. With a rather experimental lineup, the visitors were already 0-2 by the tenth minute – first Andrea Pinamonti was left alone in the center of the penalty area, and then Armand Loriente made a solo pass, running away from Alessandro Florenzi.

Milan bounced back quite quickly. First, Samuel Chukwueze’s goal was not counted due to offside, but then Rafael Leau skillfully dealt with the defender and twisted the ball into the corner.

Sassuolo managed to bring the first half to victory, and at the beginning of the second they scored again – Loriente scored a double with a low shot from the penalty area.

Once again, the Red-Blacks pulled one goal back quickly – Luka Jovic hit the empty corner of the goal after Leau’s pass and the unsuccessful actions of goalkeeper Andrea Consigli. After some time, Chukwueze scored again, and again this goal was not counted – the winger climbed out of play by a few millimeters.

And yet, Pioli’s team was able to score a legitimate third goal. After a corner kick, fresh Noah Okafor shot into the goal after Matteo Gabbia’s discount.

Sassuolo fatally missed a victory that would have allowed the team to leave the relegation zone. Milan remained second, maintaining a six-point lead over Juventus.

In the next round, the Rossoneri will face Inter on April 22. Their eternal rival can win the championship title in a head-to-head duel. Earlier, on Thursday, Pioli’s team will play away against Roma in the return match of the 1/4 finals of the Europa League.
