Brazhko, Gorbach, Sikan and a miracle replacement from Shishchenko: the entire team of the 24th round of the Premier League

Sport Arena names the symbolic team of the next UPL round of the 2023/24 season, as well as the best in individual nominations, which are determined by our website for each round

On the website SportArena.com – teams of all rounds of the Ukrainian Premier League 2023/24. Who made it into the top 11 this time and won in individual categories?

INRatar – Oleg Kudrik (Polesie)

In the last rounds, Kudryk plays in goal instead of the experienced Boyko. As in the best times of the First League, the goalkeeper acts with courage. In a difficult match against Kolos, in which the result came first for the Zhytomyr team, Oleg was in the whirlpool of events from the first minutes. Either he ran far forward to head the ball before his opponents, then he entered into the fight for high balls during serves, or he reacted on the line. I pulled a total of four blows, including quite difficult ones. Reacted to an attack from the experienced Burda at close range. At one point after Ilyin Kudrik’s shot, the crossbar protected him. The result is a minimal victory over the bodies with the maximum contribution of the goalkeeper.

EtcFirst defender – Rafael Bandeira (Krivbass)

With the release of Bandeira, in comparison with his competitors, special notes of the game appeared on the right flank of the Kryvyi Rih team. At times, Rafa shifted from the flank in the style of Lahm or Kimmich, often making unorthodox decisions in continuing attacks. In a difficult fight with young rivals from Rukh, he managed both in front and behind. He himself shot at the hosts’ goal, and acted as an assistant for Kozhushko, seeing a dash and a hint gesture from his teammate and providing him with an excellent assist.

Tsecentral defender – Vladislav Priymak (Obolon)

In the match with the sensation of the spring – FC Minaj – Priymak performed a large amount of work in defense and was not to blame, of course, for the missed goal from the penalty spot, earned by a completely different player. Vladislav actively went to the opponent’s goal and eventually finished off Grysyo’s cool serve with a header, and this goal saved Obolon from defeat in the minority.

TseCentral defender – Maxim Imerekov (Metalist 1925)

Dnepr-1 had the lead for a long time and had the opportunity to “close” this match even without Pikhalenok, Filippov and Tretyakov, who dropped out just before the game with the Kharkov team. But Skrypnik’s most wards showed strong-willed qualities. In particular, Imerekov actively walked forward and after a late corner hit the crossbar and managed to finish off himself. In the third compensated minute of the second half, Maxim equalized the score in a match that could have ended much worse.

Lefirst defender – Artem Smolyakov (Polesie)

Among the left-backs of the reporting round, Smolyakov stood out somewhat, regularly joining in the attacks and keeping his opponents on their toes. Luifer could score from his passes, and in several moments only the decisive intervention of goalkeeper Kolos Fesyun defused the situation. In the last rounds, the Zhytomyr team experimented in defense, but it seems they are returning to the optimal combination of players, and Smolyakov in these rounds wins the competition against Mikhailichenko’s team.

Tsecentral midfielder – Vladimir Brazhko (Dynamo)

Brazhko, with Andrievsky and Shaparenko, formed the game pattern of the Kievites in Alexandria. He was one of the most active and productive. He got excited in the second half, when he himself launched an attack from deep, and when the opponents blocked opportunities for Shaparenko to advance, Brazhko personally struck an excellent shot under the crossbar from 15 meters, and this goal turned out to be decisive for Dynamo, which played out the entire second half with ten men.

EtcFirst midfielder – Alexey Gutsulyak (SK Dnepr-1)

Numerous personnel losses, including Tretyakov’s departure just before the away match with Metalist 1925, forced individual Dnepr-1 players to take on the burden of leadership. This is what we’re talking about Gutsulyak: already in the opening, he took over the game after Sarapiy’s pass, technically deprived the opponents of the chance to take the ball and finished the attack with a good shot. This was not enough for victory, but Alexei is the least likely person to blame for this.

AtOffensive midfielder – Talles Brener (Rukh)

The match with Krivbass had great tournament weight both for Rukh himself and for numerous competitors. And it is important that the Lviv team showed strong will, coming back in the second half and avoiding defeat. Talles, who played out so much in the spring that he became similar to the example of last season, scored that very saving goal. After a good pass from Fedor, the Brazilian clearly completed the attack. And in general he played carefully.

Lefirst midfielder – Gennady Pasich (LNZ)

The Cherkassy club beat Veres, breaking the winless streak that had lasted since March. And one of the most active on the field was the former Rivne winger Pasich. He himself went into attacks more than once, combined well, tore apart his flank and zone. And in the end, he sent an excellent assist to Khoblenko, and this particular goal brought the surprisingly coveted three points to the debutant UPL club.

Onfalling – Igor Gorbach (Zarya)

How Gorbach played out after his recent first goal in the UPL! In the confrontation with Chernomorets, he could have opened the scoring even earlier, but in the end he took advantage of Butko’s serve after the throw-out. In the second half, the active Igor more than once found himself in striking positions, and also did not get tired of playing along with his teammates in an interesting manner – either with his heel or on discounts. At a minimum, Yatsyk and Antyukh could (and should have) consolidated the advantage of the Lugansk club.

Onfalling – Daniil Sikan (Shakhtar)

“Rehearsal for the Ukrainian Cup final” – that’s what this championship calendar match was called. It was especially successful for Sican, who was active from the first minutes and opened the scoring with a finish relatively early (in the 21st minute). Both before and after, Daniil often found himself in the center of attention and events: in one moment, goalkeeper Isenko helped out Vorskla, in two more moments, Shakhtar’s striker himself was unable to deliver an accentuated or accurate shot. However, it was his goal that turned out to be decisive.

Tour coach – Alexander Shovkovsky (Dynamo)

Dynamo, outnumbered and with disorienting air raids that significantly slowed down the pace of the game, managed to win away against a rather difficult opponent. Already ten people from Kiev adjusted well and managed to score the only goal of the match. This victory, by the way, the third in a row for Shovkovsky’s team on the road, brought Dynamo to second place, taking into account the synchronized misfires of the competitors. The capital club has not lost 12 matches since the beginning of November, when it lost to Shakhtar (0:1).

Joker of the tour – Vyacheslav Tankovsky (Polesie)

82nd minute: Tankovsky came on as a substitute instead of Krushinsky. 83rd minute: with the first kick of the match, Fortune scores the winning goal against Kolos from a pass. An absolutely crazy substitution from Shishchenko, which decided the fate of the match with the Kovalevites.

  • Sport Arena statistics: 22 league matches, 1 goal, 2 assists.

Best young player of the tour – Oleg Fedor (Rukh)

Fedor was forced to move into the attack due to Klimchuk’s injury. Of course, an attacking midfielder cannot fully replace a striker, but Oleg does everything to compensate for this loss and even add new colors to the Lviv team’s game. In the match with Krivbass, which was surprisingly important from a tournament point of view, it was Fedor who assisted Talles on the saving goal.

  • Sport Arena statistics: 9 league matches, 2 assists.

Best legionnaire of the tour – Yassin Fortune (Polesie)

The sixth match in the championship was played by the former team of France and the ex-talent of London Arsenal. However, right now, in an important match against Colossus, Fortune was lucky enough to benefit his new team. Yassin appeared on the field ten minutes earlier, but managed to get comfortable. He successfully deployed the attack and with a simple decision – a back pass – assisted Tankovsky on the winning goal.

  • Sport Arena statistics: 6 championship matches, 1 assist.

Best goal of the tour – Vladimir Brazhko (Dynamo → FC Alexandria)

Dynamo Kyiv’s Brazhko and Zhytomyr’s Tankovsky scored juicy and beautiful shots; several unusual goals were scored by good combinations or assists. However, the favorite is a spontaneous decision and a cannon strike. During the attack in the minority, Shaparenko bumped into a defender, from whom the ball bounced to Brazhko, and who would have thought that Volodya shoots with his left foot no worse than with his right! Right under the crossbar from the penalty line…

Hero of the tour – Vladimir Brazhko (Dynamo)

The trip to Alexandria turned out to be difficult for the Kiev team, but even after Voloshin was sent off, they maintained the pace, and Brazhko once again reminded of himself with a well-placed strike.

  • Sport Arena statistics: 21 matches in the championship, 6 goals, 2 assists.
