Swimmer Shevlyakov: “Kostin is the father of the butterfly sprint, he will come back”

Russian swimming champion Roman Shevlyakov told that in the 50m butterfly, the absence of World Championship medalist Oleg Kostin was felt.

Shevlyakov won the 50m butterfly at the Russian Championships in Kazan.

— Don’t you miss Kostin?

– Of course we miss you. He is the father of the butterfly sprint and he will come back. The main competition is the Friendship Games, and it is important for him to qualify for the Olympic trials, focusing on breaststroke. But he will certainly return later to the “dolphin” of the 50 m.

— Are you planning to go to the Cup final in Yekaterinburg? Do you hope it will be better than at the International University Sports Festival?

– Yes, given the experience I have. Then we sailed to the end of the season, and now the departure from Yekaterinburg will take place in the middle of the season, I hope there will be better results.

– I’m talking about something else. Do you think it will be better with the organization? Should I be warmer or should I wear gloves in the pool again?

— I wore gloves in Kazan, even though it’s warmer here. But I hope the water will be heated in Yekaterinburg. Everyone who was there noticed it. It’s really a problem, it’s very cold there.

— Should I bring the boiler?

“If we put everything in a boiler, we can do something,” Shevlyakov told .

The Russian swimming championship will end on April 19 in Kazan. Watch live broadcasts of the tournament on the channels of the Match holding company and on the sites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru.
