Savenko won the 200m backstroke at the Russian Championships taking place in Kazan.

—Did your height help you win?

— No, I think the preparation helped.

— You were on the podium this time in the 100m!

– It’s also the first time for me. I managed to swim in 53 seconds. Only Zhenya Rylov, Kliment Kolesnikov and Miron Lifintsev overcame this barrier. I am happy to find myself in such a company.

— You became the hero of the show after a flash interview, when it suddenly turned out that Clement was not so tall.

“I don’t think I’m really very tall.” People on the street ask and are surprised. It’s like I’m not 2m 7cm tall, but 2.5m.

— Does growth help?

– Sometimes. Good work and competition help – with such guys you want to swim faster and faster, ”reports correspondent, reporting Savenko’s words.
